District Registrar

District Educational records for students who have graduated or moved are housed at Student Support Center. The district registrar, Brittni Ojeda ensures student records are archived or sent to the next school site. Additionally, she provides copies of important documents such as shot records and transcripts for former students who request them.
Nursing and Health Services

School nursing services in Clovis, NM are part of a comprehensive school health program that promotes the health and well-being of every student.

Our primary goal is to ensure students maintain optimum health over time so that they may fully participate in, and benefit from, the learning process at school. School nurses work to maximize the health and learning potential of all students. In the Clovis schools, “Good health and learning go hand in hand.”

The CMS Health Services team has ten registered nurses on staff to provide quality medical care. In addition to providing the always in demand ice packs and band-aids, school nurses perform the following services:
  • Administer medication and procedures
  • Treat minor illness and injury
  • Provide acute and emergency care
  • Identify safety concerns
  • Administer vaccines
  • Assess student needs, plan care, and facilitate referrals
  • Case manage students with chronic health conditions
  • Participate in the development of 504 plans and Individual Education Plans
  • Coordinate school health services with families, community health care providers and education staff
  • Participate in crisis management
  • Create and facilitate emergency response plans

Mental Health

Each staff member of the Student Support Services department is fully trained in the provision of mental health services. Most have years of experience as mental health providers in settings outside of the schools. Many of our personnel are licensed as school psychologists, social workers or as professional counselors by an agency of the State of New Mexico. The coordinator of the department is a fully trained and licensed clinical psychologist who holds a doctorate in clinical psychology.

School social workers, counselors and psychologists provide help to students who have qualified for Special Education services for behavioral and/or emotional problems. In these cases, we provide one or more of the following:
  • Counseling - Individual and/or group counseling
  • Family Conferences - Meetings to discuss parenting issues/concerns
  • Consultation - Meetings with the student's teacher(s) to assist them in working with the student's behavioral or emotional problems
  • Interagency Coordination - Communication with other agencies to help the student and to allow follow up to assure that services are continuing.
  • Crisis Intervention - When a student is a danger to them self or others or is out of control, the School Psychologist, counselor or Social Worker will aid in resolving the situation or will find help for the student.
  • Behavior management assistance – Behavior Aides are assigned some students whose behavior is disruptive to the educational environment and who need close adult guidance to modify their behavior.
